If you are considering attending this retreat, it is probably safe to assume that you have walked away from your life as a Jehovah's Witness. If you are like most ex-JWs, it is probably also safe to assume that you still feel... tethered, to this religion.
Tethered by old ways of thinking. Tethered by fear of the world and other people. Tethered by mistrust of your "treacherous heart". And of course, tethered to family and friends who are incapable of understanding your decision to leave, and fail to see you as anything more than a lost "sheep".
These are the cords we aim to cut. To cut away all that keeps us small. To cut away all that keeps us afraid. To cut away all that is not us in order to fully connect with all that remains in our authentic, unadulterated self.
We cut these cords, saying goodbye to all that no longer serves us, so that we may be free to live up to our fullest potential. Fulfilled, happy and fully engaged in life, as we were always meant to be
The Mission
Guiding Principles
At the heart of what we do lies an unwavering commitment to safety, honesty, and authenticity. We are not here to dictate what others should think but to challenge perspectives and support everyone in thinking for themselves.
We walk the path we invite others to explore, never leading where we have not ventured ourselves. This shared journey is rooted in care and mutual support, as we understand that everyone will face moments of vulnerability. In those times, we stand together, shining light into the shadows and offering strength to one another.
We honor the bravery it takes to speak unpopular truths or to set firm personal boundaries, celebrating each step toward authenticity and self-expression. Recognizing the inherent power in every individual, we reject the notion of victimhood and instead embrace the opportunity to grow from life’s challenges.
Fear, to us, is not an adversary but a friend, illuminating the areas where growth is needed. Transformation is central to our ethos—a process that often requires the death of an old self to give birth to something new. This can be uncomfortable, but it is through dismantling the layers of who we think we must be that we uncover who we truly are.
In everything we do, we aim to foster a space where these principles guide and inspire us toward deeper understanding, greater connection, and the courage to fully be ourselves.
